Pound Cake with Cream Cheese
Traditional Pound Cake recipe with Cream Cheese
Equipment
- 1 Bundt cake pan rectangular cake pan can be used instead
Ingredients
- 3 C Flour
- 3 C Sugar
- 6 Eggs
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 1/2 C Butter unsalted, 3 sticks
- 1/2 C Cream Cheese 1 block
Instructions
- Soften Butter and Cream Cheese to room temperature. Let Eggs come to room temperature.
- Mix Sugar, Butter, Cream Cheese, and Vanilla until creamy.
- Add Eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly between.
- Preheat oven to 325F.
- Add Flour a cup at a time and mix until smooth.
- Grease and Flour Bundt cake pan or rectangular cake pan.
- Pour batter into Cake pan and bake for 1.5 hours. Check after 1 hour with a toothpick.
Notes
The batter will be THICK, so you will be dolloping it into the pan rather than pouring.
It is very easy to undercook this cake, and the toothpick test can be misleading due to the thickness of the cake. Use a skewer or table knife to be sure it is done.
