Shiner Bock BBQ Sauce
Tangy and spicy bbq sauce, great on chicken and pork!
Equipment
- 2 qt pot
- wooden spoon
- quart jar
Ingredients
Sauce Body
- 12 oz tomato paste
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 T molasses
- 1 cup vinegar 5%
- 1 t onion powder
- 1 t garlic powder
- 1 T chili powder
- 1/2 t cayenne vary to taste. This is the heat.
- 1 t paprika
- 1 t old bay seasoning
- 1 T fresh cracked black pepper vary to taste.
- 1 t salt vary to taste
- 1 T liquid smoke
- 2 cup Shiner Bock beer
Thickener
- 2 T corn starch
- 1/4 cup vinegar
Instructions
- Mix sauce body ingredients in a 2qt pot and bring to a boil.
- Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
- Mix the thickener ingredients in a small bowl and add to the sauce body.
- Bring sauce to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Jar and refrigerate between uses.
