  • 1 C sugar
  • 1/2 C raisins
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • 1 T vanilla
  • 1/2 t nutmeg

Topping

  • 1/4 C brown sugar

Instructions

  • Crush the bread into crumbs
  • Pour bread crumbs into pan
  • mix remaining ingredients together in a mixing bowl
  • pour mixture over bread crumbs
  • preheat oven to 350 F. This isn't done earlier so the mixture has a chance to soak into the bread crumbs.

  • cool a bit, serve with ice cream.

Notes

Grandma used to hide any kind of edible leftovers in the bread pudding.  Old birthday cake, extra pancakes, green beans, etc. This was a good way to make sure there was never any food wasted.
